Phong Nha Cycling Tour Itinerary

In the morning

08:00 – 08:30: We pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha. Then, we start going to the starting point where we get brief information about the rules on village roads.

08:45: We leave Phong Nha Town for Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. Now, your Phong Nha cycling tour sets off.

Firstly, your cycling team crosses Xuan Son Bridge and watches the top view of Phong Nha Town over the Son River. On this route, you will see beautiful local fields of corn and rice.

In particular, when cycling along Son River, you will explore Na Village, which is known for its floating fishing farm. You will stop en route to learn about the local culture, how the rice is grown, and how the villagers feed their fish in the river.

After visiting the village, you carry your bike across the cornfields to get to the boat landing. If it’s a wet day, your shoes will get muddy when crossing this path.

Upon arrival at the boat landing, a B-52 boat will transfer your bicycles to the next station. Meanwhile, you will do a short hike through the corn and peanut fields. Then, your team will hop on bikes again and back on the road.

After pedaling to get through a nice peanut field, you reach Ho Chi Minh Original Trail. During the war, this trail facilitated the movement of soldiers and supplies from North Vietnam to battlefields in South Vietnam. On the way, our guide will tell you more details.

Notes: Please make sure your hands are tight enough to conquer this tough trail. After that, you will cross another muddy path through the peanut fields along the Chay River to reach HCM HW (West Wing).

In the afternoon

At noon: You will enjoy lunch at Chay Lap Homestay.

Later on, you will stop at Nuoc Mooc Spring, where an eco-trail leads you to a pristine water swimming pool in the jungle. It’s time for free swimming.

After that, you will cross the Chay River over a wooden bridge to visit Wine Cave. At this cave, the V.C. made rice wine when hiding bombs from U.S. aircraft. A symbol of peace has remained in the cave since the war.

Then, a local ferry to cross the Chay River will give you a chance to meet up with the best Russian-speaking local man in the area.

Finally, on the way back, your team stops at Ho Khanh’s House to learn about the caving passion of the “King of Phong Nha Cave Kingdom”. Ho Khanh is the local jungle man who first found Son Doong Cave – the World’s Biggest Cave. Now, he is working as the porter leader for the trip to Son Doong Cave. If you are lucky, you can get a picture of this world-famous man. His wife serves excellent chocolate coffee.

16:30: Your team comes back to Phong Nha Town. You will have an ice cream break before the tour ends.
