About Kong: Skull Island
Kong: Skull Island is an American monster film directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and written by Dan Gilroy and Max Borenstein. The film is a reboot of the King Kong franchise and served as the second film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse. We will browse through its plot below.
In 1971, a team of explorers with a company of soldiers follow the myth. The Pacific is covered amidst rumors of an island where creatures both prehistoric and monstrous are supposed to live. Soon, they come across Skull Island, the very island of lore and legend.
The creatures they encounter frighten the soldiers and explorers running for their lives. Soon, Kong shows up to let all know that he is the King of Skull Island, who is at the top of the food chain. Will they survive to tell their story? Will beauty win the heart of the beast?
Kong In Vietnam
The filming took place in the northern portion of Vietnam including Ninh Binh Province (Trang An, Van Long, and Tam Coc), Quang Ninh Province (Ha Long Bay), and Quang Binh Province (Tu Lan Cave System).
Besides, they chose the island of Oahu in Hawaii and Australia’s Gold Coast. Yet, most of the scenes are in Viet Nam. With their trailer, spectators have been impressed by the wonderful and majestic Viet Nam sightseeing.
The first destination that should be mentioned is Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO Heritage Site and a popular travel destination in Quang Ninh Province. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes.

Along with Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh is described as the shelter of King Kong. There are 3 places appearing in this film: Van Long, Trang An, and Tam Coc. The picturesque beauty of this land has fascinated a huge number of tourists from both domestic and international areas.

Furthermore, in the movie Kong: Skull Island, the landscapes in Quang Binh were recreated as the home of King Kong. Initially, the crew hoped to be able to bring up the small screen grandeur and mystery of the Son Doong. Yet, due to the strict protection of its natural environment, Son Doong was not able to appear in the movie as intended.
Fortunately, however, Phong Nha-Ke Bang Quang Binh had more than enough to offer. The film crew successfully captured beautiful landscapes for their film in the Tu Lan Cave System. Its caves are extremely impressive in appearance and treat viewers to voyeuristic fascination.
