Along the way from Da Nang to Phong Nha, you will have the opportunity to visit some famous tourist destinations. Between Da Nang and Hue, there is Hai Van Pass – an interesting place to stop. Hai Van Pass is an approximately 21 km long mountain pass on National Route 1A in Vietnam. Hai Van Pass is one of the most scenic hillside roads in Vietnam. When braving the steep winding roads of a paved mountain pass, you will have a chance to discover peace, quiet, and history along the way.
Leaving Hai Van Pass, we will reach Hue city. “Poetic Hue, dreamy and romantic Hue, Hue – city of two World Heritages…” are the ever names people to call Hue city – the latest imperial capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty (from the 17th to 19th century). No one who has come to Hue could ignore its ancient beauty and romance. If you have a chance to take a cruise along the Perfume River, have some special cuisine, and listen to Nha Nhac Royal Music, you can feel the actual picturesque view of this natural classical mysterious city!
The next stop is La Vang Church. The church is highlighted by the Shrine of Our Lady of La Vang (Mother Maria). The legend has it that Christians sought refuge in the rainforests of La Vang in Quang Tri Province Vietnam, and many became very ill. Whilst hiding in the jungle, the community gathered every night at the foot of a tree to pray the rosary, and one night in 1798, in the branches of the tree a lady appeared, wearing the traditional Vietnamese ao dai (long dress) and holding a child in her arms, with two angels beside her.
Another place you can stop on the way is Hien Luong Bridge. Hien Luong Bridge across the Ben Hai river that formed part of the border between North and South Vietnam from 1954 until reunification and was thus a crucial spot in the DMZ. Today it is maintained as a major national monument for the reunification of Vietnam at the end of the Vietnam War. And there’s also a museum, propaganda war remnants, and two memorials.
Before reaching Phong Nha, you can choose to stop at Vinh Moc Tunnels the underground miniaturized village. This is the largest historical tunnel in the DMZ of Vietnam. Deep beneath the dark earth, hidden from screeching bombers and harboring desperate soldiers, the people of Vinh Linh, Quang Tri lived for many years in the now famous Vinh Moc Tunnel. If you would like to stop here, the surcharge is 10 USD/car.
Keeping up your journey, we will transfer you to the hotel in Phong Nha. Our driver will get your money and end of service.
